Placer County Museums Digital Collections

Welcome to the digital collections of the Placer County Museums and the Placer County Archive and Research Center.

Our mission is to preserve and collect material that documents the rich history of Placer County.  This archive is a repository for records generated both by the County of Placer, as well as by private businesses, organizations, collectors, and family and newspaper archives.

The collections currently available online include the Placer County Clerk-Recorder Collections (Land Claims; Homestead Claims; Women as Sole Traders; and Deeds and Official Records).  More collections will be added as they are available which in time, will include our extensive photograph archive, museum collections, and maps collections.  In the meantime, if you would like to learn more about researching our holdings please contact the Curator of Archives at (530) 889-7789.

Watch the video below for information about navigating this site. Please refer to our Collection Guides to learn more about specific collections.
